On this week’s episode of the program, I will be featuring the music of the weareallghosts label, a new label out of Motherwell, Scotland run by thomas mathie.
In the last year or so, he’s put out 21 releases, a various artists compilation, three singles and an ongoing dronescape series by one of the musicians on the label.
I will be featuring work by such artists as Cousin Silas, Brother Saturn, Earlyguard, Jack Hertz, Kevin Lyons, Mystified, Wolfgang Merx and even a couple of tracks by myself.

I hope you’ll join me on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 11 PM central time for the blind flight on stillstream, your place of solace.
Thanks for listening.
This podcast will be available for 7 days from the posting of the entry. If I had more dropbox space, I’d consider leaving the archives up longer than that but I feel that a week should be enough time for people to grab the program.

Thanks for listening and many thanks to Brad for allowing me the opportunity to guest DJ on his program.
I’m trying something new with the wordpress options as suggested by a friend on twitter who also has a wordpress blog so I hope this works out.
I’ve also set options to post the updates to Facebook and twitter so I hope that works as well.
Anyway, on this week’s edition of the program, I’ll be starting the broadcast with around 5 or 6 of my very favorite tracks by Altus.
This week was my good friend Donovan’s birthday and I wrote a dark ambient track for him because I know how much he enjoys that particular genre of ambient music. You see, brother Donovan, when I met him back in 2002, was very much into heavy metal and classic rock and he still is. however, since I introduced him to ambient music and the stillstream channel, he’s really getting into the genre a lot and even listens to stillstreams for days at a time.
Anyway, this track I wrote is called Dark Ambient Drone for Donovan and I’m going to end the program with it.
In the middle of the broadcast, I don’t know what I’m going to play so who knows what will happen.
I hope you’ll join me at 11 PM central time on Friday, April 26th for the show.

For my followers who are blind or visually impaired, there’s an option at the bottom of the stillstream page that says make this page more accessible to screen readers. This will make it so the page doesn’t refresh automatically which can be problematic for a screen reader since you can lose your place if the page refreshes when you’re in the middle of reading it.
Welcome to the blog for my internet radio broadcast called the blind flight.
Since this is my first entry, I’ll go into a little of the history of the show as well as what the title really means.
I was approached by someone on the internet in 2008 who was looking for djs for a radio station and since broadcasting had always been a dream of mine, I thought it would be a good opportunity to make this inner vision a reality.
The program is inspired by two long standing ambient radio shows, the Hearts of space program hosted by Steven Hill http://www.hos.com/ and the more dreamy/ambient program called Stars End hosted by Chuck Van Zyl http://www.starsend.org/
In 2008 the show started out as a 3 hour broadcast and then expanded to 5 hours form 2009 up until recently.
Now that I’ve moved to the stillstream network and I’m on at a later time, the show is back to a 3 hour format, at least for a while.
The blind flight title comes from an imagination Theater episode where a blind girl has to land a plane because the pilot was unconscious.
I also happen to be totally blind and besides broadcasting, I am a stay-at-home dad of three and I’m also an ambient musician. I’ve found lately, that my muse has lead me more towards composing around field recordings and the like and this has produced some interesting long form results, some of which will be featured form time to time on the program.
I’ve also got a cd for download called Times Escape which is on the wereallghosts site http://weareallghosts.bandcamp.com/
I will try to post a short entry every week talking about what will be coming up on that week’s program as well as posting the playlist and download links for each broadcast.
